Scotsman Harold Berens was born in Glasgow on March 4th 1903. Playing the role of the hotel landlord in the Danger Man episode 'Judgement Day' he later went on to appear in two episodes of The Prisoner. Firstly as the reporter in 'Free For All' and then in 'The Girl Who Was Death' where he played the boxing MC.

Several sources quote Berens as having appeared in over 200 films. He made his debut in the 1944 film Candlelight In Algeria and among his very extensive list of credits are included appearances in A Kid For Two Farthings, The Big Money, The Pure Hell of St Trinians and The Painted Smile. His final big screen appearance was in the 1992 comedy Carry On Columbus. He was always in demand on the small screen too and made appearances in Dixon of Dock Green, Danger Man, The Avengers, Randall & Hopkirk, Z Cars, A Legacy, Are You Being Served and Minder.

Berens died on May 10th 1995 aged 92.
